Richard Hoagland is technical staff member at Los Alamos National Laboratory (USA) and Professor Emeritus, Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at Washington State University (USA). He is a recipient of the Bernd T. Matthias Scholarship, ASM Fellow, and Westinghouse Distinguished Professor in Materials Science. He has advised over 28 graduate students at Washington State University and Ohio State University. He leads a computational effort at Los Alamos National Labs to understand extraordinary plastic strength in metallic multilayer thin films.
